How It All Started.

In my previous role as the Group Financial Controller for a Global Recruitment company, I felt like an integral part of the management team, confident in my position's stability. However, life had a surprise in store for me when I was unexpectedly made redundant. The experience left me feeling a mix of emotions - anger, resentment, and a sense of disbelief.

In that pivotal moment, I made a firm decision - I would never allow circumstances (or a boss) to dictate my fate again.

Determined to take control of my destiny, I chose to venture into entrepreneurship. So in 2013, drawing upon my extensive financial expertise, I took the leap and started a bookkeeping business. My primary objective was to provide valuable support to entrepreneurs, helping them overcome the challenges associated with managing their business finances.

Facing Big Challenges.

As my business grew and I worked with more clients, I realised that simply helping them with bookkeeping wasn't enough.

Many clients faced broader challenges and aspirations beyond finances. Achieving financial harmony required addressing more than just balancing the books.

Entrepreneurs, especially women, sought support in navigating the ups and downs of running a business, dealing with insecurities, and finding their authentic voice in the online world.

To make a difference, I decided to adopt a more holistic approach.

In addition to bookkeeping, I knew I had to offer guidance, coaching, and practical solutions to help my clients thrive on their entrepreneurial journey. My mission now extends beyond financial management; it's about empowering clients to take charge of their entire business, align it with their values, and cultivate a healthy relationship with money.

As a seasoned financial professional with over 30 year experience, Sylvia is known for her honest, caring down to earth approach to financial management.

With over 10 years working with small business owners, Sylvia understands the trials & tribulations many small business owners face day to day and it’s her passion to see small business owners succeed so they can make a bigger impact in the world.

Ciro Chierchia

Director, Fin Altura

Ciro is a Financial Controller with over 35 years of experience in both the Banking and Retail sectors.

He has gained extensive knowledge throughout his roles as Head of Accounts, Financial Management Officer, Senior Logistic Officer, Commercial Property Manager as well as Imports Manager and Payroll Officer.

Ciro has controlled the lending accounts of various sizes for the companies by liaising closely with the lending institutions and is known for keeping a close control of the accounts through careful management of cash flow.
